Journey Jots #83
Hello, guys! How are you? How was your week? Do you have any fun summer plans coming up?? It’s been a few weeks so there’s lots to catch up on.
I love hearing from you and learning what’s new in your world. Let me know in the comments!
Life Lately
You guys…we did it! We finished our long bike ride and BOY was it an adventure.
Hubby biked both days, making his total 150 miles, and I biked the second day, making my total 74 miles. The first day was very rainy and cold but the second day was SO beautiful.
Backing up, the first day I drove our car and stopped at all of the rest stops with the first day bikers. Along the way, my mom and I found this really cool coffee shop in an old Victorian house! They made me the tastiest, and prettiest, latte that I’ve ever had!
The second day, near the end of the ride, we biked over a really neat gorge that goes through a state park. We were so close to being done and this was such a pretty place to stop!
I just love living in such a pretty state! What a view!!
Once we arrived at our destination, which was Duluth, and one of my most favorite cities in Minnesota, we celebrated with a pizza dinner and some fancy drinks out with friends.
We also saw a large ship leaving the Duluth harbor at sunset. I love watching these big ships come and go…it’s so crazy that we have ships from all over the world come here to our state carrying goods.
On Sunday, before heading home, we hung out with Molly! We explored the boardwalk but it was a bit chilly.
We also took Molly on a windy walk down at the lift bridge. She wanted to get out of the stroller and run! I just love her sweet, free spirit. To see the eyes of the world through her is so amazing.
You know I can’t do a road trip without going to antique store! So, on the way home, we stopped at an antique marketplace to look around. It had neat stuff but I didn’t find anything to bring home with me.
And, finally, we drove up to an overlook that looks out across the harbor of Duluth before leaving town. Stairs were really hard this day because my thighs were so sore from the bike ride! But it was totally worth it.
Weekly Shopping Finds- Favorite Finds Lately
- I’ve been wanting to get a wall cabinet to hang in the hall bath for years. Recently, I found the perfect one! This bamboo wall cabinet is great for holding bathroom essentials as well as towels.
- Wanting to free the air of allergens and pollen in our home, I’ve been on the hunt for a way to do so. This air purifier is so good…awesome for smaller spaces and can be moved around easily!
- These athletic shorts are SO comfy and come in tons of colors. Perfect for everyday use, workouts, hikes, or whatever else you need to wear shorts for!
- I love this facial sunscreen moisturizer! It’s not greasy and lasts all day.
- Also, this might sound weird, but I found the most amazing peanut butter ever!! This no-stir, honey peanut butter is SO good…I’m never going back to store brands!
